Volunteer Opportunities in New Orleans

You Can Make a Difference...Help Restore New Orleans!

Photo courtesy of Sean Bennett. As part of the NeighborWorks Training Institute in New Orleans, we're offering participants an opportunity to volunteer in a rebuilding activity.

To make it possible for you to fit in the volunteer activity with your course schedule, you have the option of signing up for service on one of three days. The Sunday activity is from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and the other days are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Each activity begins with a brief tour of the Ninth Ward to see the devastation resulting from Hurricane Katrina and the failure of the city's levies, followed by a meaningful volunteer project. Interested attendees should choose only ONE of the following volunteer activities:

  • Sunday, December 10 -- Schoolyard Clean Up
  • Tuesday, December 12 -- KaBOOM! Playground
  • Thursday, December 14 -- Operation Helping Hands - House Gutting
  • Thursday, December 14 -- Paint the Porch THIS ACTIVITY IS FULL

Click here to read a description about each volunteer activity.
