Each of the four areas above includes a series of required courses and elective courses designated for a certificate in that discipline. These individual certificates are all under the Construction and Production Management Professional Certificate Program, assuring ongoing quality in content and instruction.
There will continue to be a certificate opportunity for a general certificate in Construction and Production, for those who want a more general study in construction. Participants can also petition to design their own general certification study in consultation with the staff of the Construction and Production Management Professional Certificate Program.
Candidates
The courses are designed to educate individuals
seeking a comprehensive overview of the major components of
the construction industry, with an emphasis on construction
and rehabilitation of affordable housing. This program would be
particularly appropriate for:

Proficiency in Construction and Production
Management
Participants earning their professional certificate will take
a combination of required and elective courses leading to competence
in the following:

Specification writing and cost analysis;

Cost estimating on rehabilitation projects;

Compliance and liability issues in specification
writing;

Contract management;
-
Inspection techniques;
-
Field supervision;
-
AIA contracting and document management;
-
Blueprint reading; and
-
Construction process management.

Earning a Professional Certificate
Professional Certificates in Construction and Production Management
will be awarded to individuals who successfully complete the
five required courses and five days of elective courses, pass
the test for each required course, if applicable, and the comprehensive
exam at the end of all coursework within
three years of application to the Professional Certificate Program. It is possible
to complete all professional certificate requirements in as
few as three institutes and, with prior approval by training
division staff, candidates may receive credit for relevant courses
taken no more than two years prior to enrollment in the Professional Certificate Program.
Programcourses are open to all training institute
participants, but in order to be eligible for the professional
certificate, candidates must formally enroll in the Professional Certificate Program.
Program participants have the option of taking required
course tests online rather than on paper. Learn

Rehab Specialist Certificate:
* Designated Options: Electives include any two of the following four courses: CP189 Automate Rehab with Housing Developer Pro 3.0, CP212 Materials & Methods, CP252 HomeOwner Rehab, and CP268 Crew Leadership: Getting the Most Out of Your Team
**Environmental Options: CP211 What to Do About Environmental Hazards in Housing or CP244 Lead-Safe Practices and Basics of Compliance

Once the above courses have been completed, the final step toward completion of the certificate requirements is a comprehensive examination.
Residential Construction Manager Certificate:
*Designated Options: Electives include any two of the following four courses: CP191 Intro to Healthy Homes, CP212 Materials & Methods, CP241 Residential Green Building, and CP243 Building Healthy Homes.
It is recommended that courses are taken in the prescribed order, however this is not required.
Once the above courses have been completed, the final step toward completion of the certificate requirements is a comprehensive examination.
Project Manager Certificate:
It is recommended that courses are taken in the prescribed order, however this is not required.

Green Building & Healthy Homes Specialist Certificate:
It is recommended that courses are taken in the prescribed order, however this is not required.
