CDFI Foreclosure Solutions
|
The Capacity Building Initiative will help the CDFI Fund achieve its mission by ensuring CDFIs have the capacity to meet the needs in their communities.
The CDFI Fund's Foreclosure Solutions series, provided by NeighborWorks America, will help CDFIs build their capacity to operate highly effective foreclosure intervention programs. The series will offer training and technical assistance, as well as access to tools and resources. Participants will improve their understanding of foreclosure intervention strategies and how to effectively implement those strategies in their communities.
The series will include:
- Scholarships for complimentary training at NeighborWorks training institutes and local/regional place-based training events. Up to 250 scholarships are available for staff from CDFIs.
- Self-paced online interactive training (eLearning) plus live and recorded webinars.
- Remote and on-site technical assistance and coaching based on need.
- Resource materials available from the CDFI Fund website

Staff at CDFIs can take these eLearning courses for free. To find out how, please contact NCHEC@nw.org.
Webinars will supplement this learning and focus on topics that enhance foreclosure intervention counseling activities.
Complimentary technical assistance to qualified organizations:
Technical assistance will help participants enhance their existing programs or start a foreclosure intervention counseling program. Participants taking the foreclosure training series can apply to receive free technical assistance based on need. There will be two types of technical assistance you may request:
- “Remote Coaching”: Up to 25 CDFIs with the greatest capacity will receive remote coaching, which will be delivered via web and conference calls. The coaching will focus on a few target goals surrounding a CDFI’s foreclosure program and will result in developing a plan to reach those goals.
- On-Site Technical Assistance: This assistance will be provided to up to 10 CDFIs in areas where capacity has been limited, in both urban and rural areas. NeighborWorks faculty consultants will conduct on-site agency reviews of service, data collection, input processes and reporting procedures. The review will result in a plan for the organization that recommends immediate, short- and long-term actions to implement and improve foreclosure program performance.
If interested in receiving technical assistance, please contact faculty consultant JoAnn DePenning.
