Realizing the American Dream Trainer’s Manual, 3rd Edition, and its complementing Homebuyer’s Manual, are the definitive resource for homebuyer training and education. Both manuals are available in Spanish and English.

Developed by Fannie Mae Foundation, these guides deliver practical, specific and concise information in a user-friendly format. "Keys to My Home" Web Site
NeighborWorks Center for Homeownership Education and Counseling (NCHEC), in partnership with E*Trade Financial, has launched an exciting and highly useful new tool – Keys to My Home (www.keystomyhome.org). Based on the nationally recognized curriculum from NCHEC’s popular pre-purchase consumer manual Realizing the American Dream, Keys to My Home is a web-based package of calculators, learning modules, and comparison tools. Easy to use, clearly designed, and all completely free to practitioners and their clients, the site will soon be available in a Spanish-language version as well.
CounselorMax™
CounselorMax is a web-based client and data management system designed specifically for housing counselors. NeighborWorks America, through the NeighborWorks Center or Homeownership Education and Counseling (NCHEC), offers this tool to the homeownership counseling industry, with support from Freddie Mac.
Using CounselorMax, housing counselors can:
- Have access to an easy-to-use, web-based application, accessible from virtually any location through the Internet
- Manage intake
- Create accurate and customized reports
- Utilize powerful counseling tools including weekly and monthly budget worksheets
- Schedule and track activity
- Streamline outreach campaigns
In May 2008, a new default management module was added to CounselorMax. New features of this module include:
- Standard Default and Loss Mitigation Tracking utilizing a customized Guiding and Planning Work-Flow System
- Ability to fully track and report National Foreclosure Mitigation Counseling (NFMC) requirements, including Level 1, 2 and 3 monitoring
- NFMC data collection - ready to export to Intermediary and to NeighborWorks America
