CP900 SYMPOSIUM
Go Green Now:
Embracing Energy Efficiency,
Healthy Housing and Green Building
Atlanta, Georgia • February 27, 2008
Professionals working in the field now recognize the environmental, social and economic advantages of green building over conventional building methods. Increasingly, govenment mandates and encourages green building as well. As we begin to utilize sustainable resources and environmentally friendly procedures, information-sharing is paramount to understanding what "going green" really means, and to adopting best practices and efficiencies as quickly and effectively as possible.
Professionals in the community development and affordable housing field came together at the NeighborWorks Training Institute in Atlanta for a full-day symposium to explore a wide range of topics related to sustainability and see how they apply to housing rehabilitation, rental housing development and management, community and economic development, and homeownership. The latest thinking and innovative concepts in green building and healthy homes, and ideas on how they can work for a variety of organizations, were explored in depth.
