Dean Caldwell-Tautges has over 16 years of non-profit experience helping people in crisis improve their financial situations through vocational rehabilitation, financial counseling and education. Focused solely on foreclosure intervention counseling since 2002, he has personally counseled hundreds of homeowners, while also training counselors and mortgage servicers on the value of quality counseling. As a Homeownership Counseling faculty for NeighborWorks America, Caldwell-Tautges trains foreclosure intervention counselors and management at the national level in introductory and advanced topics, emphasizing ways to improve the quality and efficiency of counseling and program administration procedures. He also conducts foreclosure counseling best practice research and education with the goal of improved outcomes for all parties.

Caldwell-Tautges, Principal of DCT Consulting, LLC, served as the director of Counseling at the Homeownership Preservation Foundation from 2004-2007, helping lead this innovative organization's efforts to bring mortgage default and foreclosure intervention counseling to scale nationally. Caldwell-Tautges is also a lead instructor of a faith-based financial literacy curriculum offered at Minneapolis-area churches.
