Sam DeSiato is a consultant in the fields of homeownership and affordable housing related issues. DeSiato was formerly program specialist for the Colorado Department of Human Services/Supportive Housing and Homeless Program’s award-winning Section 8 homeownership program for persons with disabilities and special needs. DeSiato works with Public Housing Authorities, lenders, realtors, government agencies, nonprofit service providers and other community based organizations to advance homeownership and affordable housing options for low-income families across the country. During his ten years with the State of Colorado, he wrote housing grants, provided technical assistance to service agencies, and developed programs, including the first HUD Family Self-Sufficiency program for persons with disabilities in the country. Prior to his career with the Department of Human Services, DeSiato worked as a vocational specialist serving persons with disabilities in Colorado, Maryland and New York.
