Larry Checco is president of Checco Communications and author of Branding for Success: A Roadmap for Raising the Visibility and Value of Your Nonprofit Organization. In his more than 25 years of communications experience, Checco has helped raise the brand visibility, fund raising capabilities, membership levels, and impact of some of the nation’s largest, most respected nonprofit organizations and government agencies, including the American Red Cross, Volunteers of America and United States Postal Inspection Service. Between 2000-2002, Checco served as lead contractor for NeighborWork's America’s major marketing communications (branding) project. His articles on branding have been published by the National Housing Institute’s Shelterforce magazine and appear on a number of websites, including the Milano Graduate School of Management and Urban Policy (New School University), KnowledgePlex, and the Michigan State University library system. Checco holds a degree in economics from Syracuse University, as well as an MA in Journalism and Public Affairs from American University.
