LINDA GALLAGHER, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Linda is a consultant working in the areas of finance, development, and strategic planning. She has over 25 years experience in lending, underwriting, financial packaging and providing management advice to businesses and non-profits as a commercial lender, credit officer, account manager, and technical assistance provider, having worked in a wide range of sizes and types of financial institutions (commercial bank, credit union, community development financial institution). Since 1997, Linda has worked with several CDFI’s providing specialized services in underwriting, feasibility assessment, and financial modeling that resulted in funding options and technical assistance for their clients. In this capacity, she enabled dozens of affordable housing and other community projects in New England, Florida, and the Pacific Northwest. More recently, Linda has been active in adult education and speaking, expert review of competitive grant rounds for the U.S. Treasury CDFI Fund (to infuse capital into CED projects nationwide), and the development of a $5.6Mil affordable housing adaptive reuse project, using LIHTC, in southern New Hampshire. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from McGill University (Montreal) and a Master of Business Administration degree from Southern New Hampshire University where she was an Instructor in Financial Management and Managerial Accounting until moving to Halifax in 2006.
