| Julian Huerta is the director of programs for Foundation Communities, Austin’s largest nonprofit provider of affordable housing and supportive services. He develops and directs educational, social service and asset-building programs that serve approximately 2,000 residents and more than 10,000 other working poor families annually. Foundation Communities’ after-school programs are organized around educational and personal development goals, and serve about 900 school-aged children per year at seven on-site learning centers. Huerta is also co-founder of Sammy’s House, a nonprofit child care center for children with special medical and developmental needs in Austin. He has more than 15 years’ experience in nonprofit administration, program development and fundraising. |
