| Elisa (Tina) Poole Johnson has over 10 years experience in community development and affordable housing at both the local and national levels. Johnson is currently a Real Estate and Facilities Loan Officer for the Washington DC office of Self-Help Credit Union and Ventures Fund, a nonprofit community lender whose mission is to create and protect ownership and economic opportunity for people of color, women, rural residents and low-wealth families and communities. Previously, Johnson worked for Montgomery Housing Partnership, Inc., a NeighborWorks member organization, directing a revitalization program for small rental properties in target areas of Montgomery County, Maryland, and leading revitalization efforts in one particular neighborhood. Johnson also worked for two nonprofit community development corporations in northern Virginia and for the Rural Local Initiatives Support Corporation. In addition to neighborhood revitalization, Johnson has experience with Montgomery County’s Moderately Priced Dwelling Unit inclusionary-zoning program, affordable homeownership and multifamily development. Johnson received her J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School and her B.A. in History from Yale University. In 1996, Johnson earned a Certificate from the Housing and Community Development Executive Education Program at The University of Maryland at College Park. Johnson earned the NeighborWorks America Training Institute’s Professional Certificate in Neighborhood Revitalization in 2005. |
