Mary DeKuyper is a consultant, facilitator and trainer for nonprofits in such areas as board development, board/staff relations, organization structure, planning, fundraising, volunteer management and advocacy. She is associated with BoardSource and the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges, and national chair of Volunteers of the American Red Cross, which is a full-time volunteer position at the highest level of the organization. She is the author of The Trustee Handbook—A Guide to Effective Governance for Independent Schools. DeKuyper has received numerous awards, including the American Red Cross’ national Harriman Award for Distinguished Volunteer Service, the highest volunteer award given by the Red Cross. She received the Top 100 Maryland Women Award in the first year of the award and in 2002.
