Instructor Name: Leslie Newman
 
Leslie Newman is a community development consultant based in Oakland, California. Over the past four years, Newman has worked with nonprofit organizations on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. Her work has focused on the development and implementation of a new self-help housing program, the second in Indian Country; a mortgage lending program; and a new IDA (Individual Development Account) program. In Oakland, Newman is currently working with BACSIC (Bay Area Construction Sector Intervention Collaborative), a community collaborative providing intake, assessment, support and retention services to place and support clients in the construction industry.
