| Jennifer Muhammad is an urban planning consultant specializing in community building, leadership training and organizational development. Her focus areas include affordable housing, neighborhood revitalization, smart growth and urban education. In the nonprofit sector for more than 10 years, Muhammad is experienced in building sustainable collaborations and partnerships. In 1995, when Oakland, California, received its Enhanced Enterprise Zone designation from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Muhammad was recruited for the team which designed, administered and managed the Community Building Team component which focused on leadership training. Most recently, she has been with the National Affordable Housing Training Institute, University of the District of Columbia, Department of Urban Affairs and Citizens for Positive Change. Muhammad holds a BA in urban studies and planning from the University of California, San Diego, and a master’s degree in city and regional planning from Rutgers University. |
