Having been involved in banking, finance and non-profit management consultancy, Carlos Almanza currently serves as the principal strategist for maintaining, developing, and implementing creative methods for supporting The Unity Council’s Homeownership Center through increased philanthropy and promoting a strong public image. With nearly 20 years of nonprofit experience in management and fund development, Mr. Almanza’s background includes human resources, marketing and community outreach; operation, program and project management; formation of strategic partnerships; and planning multifaceted fundraising strategies such as large-scale and community-based events, annual funds, grants, and individual donor development. Most recently, working with a Northern CA Government Support Services organization, he assisted in the management development and managing human resources initiatives for a transitional team of government contractors working in Kuwait and Iraq. Mr. Almanza previously facilitated and oversaw the economic, community development and CRA initiatives, administered the corporate giving banking programs for key financial institutions in the Northern California footprint. As a faculty member with NeighborWorks America, Mr. Almanza conducts 5-day certification of Homebuyer Education Methods, Training the Trainer (HO229) courses nationally, both in English and Spanish. Mr. Almanza is active on various boards of directors for agencies such as, San Joaquin County Office of Education Foundation, Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center, Junior Achievement of San Joaquin County, San Joaquin County Housing Authority, Villa Real, Inc., Visionary Home Builders and the Women’s Center of San Joaquin County. Mr. Almanza most recently served on the local advisory committee for the Bay Area LISC, and is an active member of the Stockton Greater Chamber of Commerce, Sacramento Chamber of Commerce, Stockton Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and various Chamber of Commerce affiliates throughout the State of California. |
