Instructor Name: Lance Freeman
 
Lance Freeman, PhD, is an assistant professor in the urban planning program at Columbia University, NYC, where he teaches courses on housing policy and research methods. Previously, he was a researcher at Mathematica Policy Research, a leading social policy research firm in Washington, DC. Freeman has published articles on issues related to neighborhood change, urban poverty, housing policy, urban sprawl and residential segregation. He also has professional experience as a city planner for the New York City Housing Authority and budget analyst for the New York City Department of Environmental Protection. Freeman holds a master’s degree and a PhD in city and regional planning from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
