Diane Johnson, PhD has trained and worked with more than 5,500 nonprofit organizations, community groups, community activists, college and universities, public agencies and foundations since the 1992 inception of her international consulting firm, Mmapeu Consulting. Johnson specializes in working with organizations grappling with issues of increasing capacity and sustainability, impact and transformation in a multitude of areas: community building and neighborhood revitalization, education, philanthropy, workforce development, community health and cultural diversity. Her clients have included Amherst College, Berklee College of Music, Brown University, the Corporation for National and Community Service, The C.S. Mott Foundation, HUD, Oxfam America, Massachusetts Department of Education, National Education Association, NeighborWorks America and the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. She is the author of several books, including Proud Sisters, The Wit & Wisdom of African-American Women and Mother Love (which have sold more than 170,000 copies). Johnson received her PhD in interdisciplinary studies from Tufts University, a MS in nonprofit management from the New School University for Social Research and a BA from the Annenberg School of Communications and the Wharton School at University of Pennsylvania.
