Lawrence Anderson has more than 33 years of experience in the affordable housing and economic development industry. Beginning his career in Michigan for the Foundation for Cooperative Housing, the largest developer of cooperative housing in the US at that time, he worked as a developer, a loan fund manager, an equity fund manager and in the areas of property and asset management. Anderson also spent time working for the Housing Assistance Council (HAC), where he created and directed Rural Housing Services, a HAC subsidiary that specialized in the syndication of rural rental housing projects using first the Economic Recovery Tax Act then the Low Income Housing Tax Credit to syndicate rural rental projects, in conjunction with the then Farmers Home (now Rural Development) 515 program. He most recently worked for the Enterprise Foundation (1993-2006) where he worked for both the Enterprise Social Investment Corporation and Enterprise Community Partners, establishing the Atlanta office of Enterprise and overseeing the granting of over $12 million in core operating support grants, $60 million in project specific loans, and the development of affordable housing valued at over $350 million. Anderson currently operates his private consulting business specializing in training in the areas of economic development and housing finance and development. His clients include banks, city governments, state governments, private not-for-profit organizations, federal agencies, and private for-profit organizations. Lawrence also provides consulting services to organizations and governments.
