| David Wood is one of the founders and the executive director of Affordable Housing, Education and Development (AHEAD) Inc., a 12-year-old community housing-development organization in Littleton, New Hampshire. A former builder, housing rehabilitation specialist and community development director, Wood also serves as AHEAD's housing developer. Under his stewardship AHEAD has become one of the three largest community-based developers in the state, with a portfolio of 250 multifamily units. AHEAD also co-owns (with two Vermont nonprofits) a for-profit property management company that manages 1,000 units in northern New Hampshire and Vermont. Wood has a master's in community economic development from Southern New Hampshire University and now is an adjunct professor in that program, teaching nonprofit housing development. He is also a certified Nonprofit Housing Management Specialist and a steering committee member for NeighborWorks America's Multifamily and Rural Initiatives. |
