| Reemberto Rodriguez is the Director for Montgomery County (MD) Silver Spring Regional Services Center. The RSCs serve as the County's eyes and ears in the community and provide the community access to County government. Prior to coming to the County in mid-2009, Reemberto was Training Manager for the Community Engagement and the Community & Neighborhood Revitalization Professional Certificate Programs at NeighborWorks America’s Training Institutes. He coordinated the curriculum for these two Programs as well as the curriculum for the Community Leadership Institutes, a regular convening of residents, volunteers, and partners of NeighborWorks Network member organizations. He worked for NeighborWorks America’s Organizational Assessment Division and Field Offices. Reemberto’s background includes community organizing, leadership development, civic participation, community design, urban planning, and teaching at the graduate level. He was an active member in his neighborhood in Atlanta for over 30 years – and active in Leadership Atlanta - before moving with his family to Silver Spring in 2004. Prior to his current appointed position, Reemberto was the treasurer on the board of directors of Impact Silver Spring, a local grassroots leadership program. He remains active with the national American Planning Association and is certified with the American Institute of Certified Planners. Reemberto holds Masters degrees in Architecture and Community Development; and is a graduate from the Development Training Institute fellowship program. |
