| Jean A. Lowe was appointed President of the Greater Rochester Housing Partnership in 2001. The Partnership was created to facilitate the development of affordable housing in and around the City of Rochester, New York by ensuring the availability of appropriate sources of financing. Since 1992, the Partnership has lent over $65,700,000, successfully funding 1,140 units of affordable multifamily housing. The Partnership has provided funding for over 850 single- family properties located throughout Monroe County. In addition to making its own resources available through construction and bridge financing, the Partnership has successfully applied for and received $9.8 million in state and federal resources that have been funneled into the local affordable housing market. During her 15-year employment at the Partnership, in progressively more responsible positions, Ms. Lowe has been the chief underwriter for the Housing Partnership as well as project manager for all multi family lending activity.
Ms. Lowe has overseen the design and implementation of HOME Rochester, a program to rehabilitate and sell vacant single family properties in the City of Rochester. This program has grown substantially since Ms. Lowe became President of the Partnership and is now housed in the Rochester Housing Development Fund Corporation where Ms. Lowe serves as president. To finance the enlarged program, $57,000,000 in acquisition and construction financing has been raised from a variety of public and private sources.
