| Charmagne has been focusing her expertise in financial education and credit coach consulting since 2008. She began working in the Collection Department at Missoula Federal Credit Union as an Accounts Control Specialist in 2005. In 2007 she was promoted to a loan officer position. Both positions created a unique outlook for Charmagne, and her loan portfolio was at $5.8 million with a 0.052% default rate as of June, 2010. Therefore, she not only understands what to look for when underwriting good loans, but also understands the circumstances that hinder some from repaying their loans as agreed. Charmagne has also been working with Oweesta for the past two years and has facilitated three national Building Native Communities train the trainer sessions, along with three Credit Coaching Workshops that she developed for Oweesta to help meet their client’s needs. She also provides technical assistance to many of Oweesta’s clients. Because of Charmagne's hands-on experience, she is able to develop innovative, individualized tools to help others with their credit problems, and strives to focus her financial consulting on real-life practical advice, rather than theory. Charmagne continues to volunteer as a trainer for homeWORD, a Missoula non-profit first time home buyers program, that holds financial education workshops for low-income families who are looking to purchase their first homes. Charmagne grew up on the Flathead Reservation in Northwestern Montana, and attended Salish and Kootenai Tribal College in Pablo, MT. Later she moved to Missoula, MT in 2001 where she attended the University of Montana. |
