John Bonin has been a licensed real estate agent in Northern California for over 25 years, and prior to that, was a licensed real estate agent in Vancouver, Canada for several years. John received his formal education in Professional Real Estate at the British Columbia Institute of Technology, where he was also elected student body president. He has worked in both the commercial real estate industry and in the residential lending industry for over 30 years. Mr. Bonin has participated in and implemented many first-time buyer programs at the originator level, using California Housing Finance Agency and other city and county funds and enhancing them to maximize value for homebuyers by using other complementary layered financing products. Bonin has had a long association with the Home Loan Counseling Center of Sacramento (California), having been an instructor for many years in the early 1990’s. Bonin also serves as a volunteer for the Home Loan Counseling Center at a variety of tasks and more recently, at local Foreclosure Prevention Seminars and at Treasury Department-sponsored HOPE loan modification events. He is active in the Northern California Housing Counseling Network and provides trainings for a large HUD Intermediary throughout the Western U.S. on a broad range of topics, from legal issues relating to foreclosure, to lending, credit counseling, credit scoring, compliance, and other mortgage related topics. Since August 2011, Bonin has served as Marketing Director for a three branch Sacramento area subsidiary (dba) for one of the top 30 mortgage bankers in the nation. |
