Mary Jane Jagodzinski is responsible for the development of affordable housing complexes, including acquisition, planning, design, entitlements, financing and construction. Ms. Jagodzinski led the design and construction team of SOLARA, the first apartment community in California that is fully powered by photovoltaic (PV), and is a fully sustainable community. The 56-unit project in Poway, part of a mixed-use master plan that Community HousingWorks designed and built, has already been nationally recognized, receiving: Charles Edson Award of Excellence for Metropolitan/Urban areas; the Urban Land Institute San Diego’s “Smartest of the Smart for 2007” Smart Growth Award; Affordable Housing Finance Magazine 2007 Readers’ Choice Project of the Year; and, has been selected for case studies by the Urban Land Institute and by the University of Virginia. Ms. Jagodzinski has an MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration (Harvard Business School) and holds a BA in Economics (Honors) from California State University, Sacramento. She serves as a member of the California Energy Commission’s New Solar Homes Partnership Affordable Housing Advisory Committee, and is a member of: Urban Land Institute (ULI); Policy Committee of the San Diego Housing Federation, and the US Green Building Council (USGBC).
