D. Corwyn Jackson is a national foreclosure intervention consultant, professional trainer and public speaker who specializes in loss mitigation, homeownership preservation, neighborhood/community stabilization and issues related to property management. Through his consulting firm, The Corwyn Group, LLC, Jackson provides a variety of consulting services for the non-profit housing industry, including workforce development services for communities and employee financial fitness programs for organizations. His housing counseling services include the identification of potential funding sources, grant writing strategies, and internal training in relation to the housing counseling industry. As a consultant, Jackson provides both on-site assistance and remote-servicing capabilities. In 2010, Jackson was contracted by the Michigan State Housing Development Authority to provide counselor certification training for its member agencies, a project which was sponsored by the Bank of America Foundation. Jackson currently serves as consultant to a variety of social service agencies, including Cambridge Credit Counseling, a HUD-approved housing and debt counseling agency. Through this partnership, Jackson has assisted in the development and implementation of the organization’s housing counseling division, including counselor training and curriculum development. A recognized leader in the housing counseling sector, Jackson brings with him a vast network of resources and contacts, which has proven to be a crucial component in the establishment of Cambridge’s housing division. In addition to his consulting services, Jackson is a faculty member for the NeighborWorks Center for Homeownership Education and Counseling (NCHEC), which provides education and training to housing counseling professionals on a national level. Jackson teaches several certification courses, including a five-day advanced course in Foreclosure Intervention and Default Counseling. Topics for this course include implementing effective foreclosure strategies and loss mitigation negotiation. Prior to his recent accomplishments, Jackson served as Director of Housing Education for the Massachusetts Affordable Housing Alliance (MAHA). In this capacity, he was responsible for MAHA's first-time homebuyer and Home Safe education programs, as well as the Financial Planning series sponsored by Mellon New England. He was also responsible for all of MAHA’s counseling programs, which included foreclosure prevention, loss mitigation, predatory lending and credit, and debt management. Jackson also served as the Housing Services Coordinator at Victory Programs, Inc., responsible for the day-to-day management of the Homelessness Prevention Initiative, providing highly professional advocacy and mediation services for all facets of homelessness, housing and client issues. Earlier in his career, Jackson was a loan officer at PNC Mortgage Corp. and served as Vice President of Housing & Development and Chief of Staff at the Organization for a New Equality (O.N.E.). There, he oversaw the property management of foreclosed properties, assisted in O.N.E.'s development of new affordable housing projects, and facilitated loan workout options to borrowers at risk of losing their homes to foreclosure. In addition to his efforts in the counseling arena, Jackson is also the owner of Home Staging By Corwyn, which specializes in REO (real estate owned) staging, preservation, and marketing resources. |
