Scott R. Konrad leads a nationwide nonprofit practice for Frank Crystal & Co., a leading independent, privately-owned insurance brokerage and risk advisory firm with a national footprint and global service platform. Based in New York, Scott joined Frank Crystal in 2010 from Willis, where he built a New York-based center of excellence serving prominent global, national and regional nonprofit entities. His final achievement at Willis was to reposition a nationwide affinity insurance offering for affordable housing developers under the auspices of Neighborhood Risk Management Corporation, a NeighborWorks America initiative.

A graduate of Colgate University, Scott launched his insurance career in 1977 with Liberty Mutual Insurance Company and transitioned three years later to the brokerage sector, advocating for a diverse clientele, including museums and cultural institutions, as a vice president of global brokers Johnson & Higgins and Marsh & McLennan. In 1996, Scott joined the Church Insurance Companies, the denominational insurance arm of the Episcopal Church, for which he established a regional service center and managed deployment of the companies’ products and services to over 2,000 institutional clients in 20 Episcopal dioceses throughout 11 Northeastern states. He reentered the mainstream brokerage sector in 2003 as a senior sales executive with Willis.

Scott earned professional accreditation in risk management for churches and schools from the University of Cambridge (UK). An advisory board member for the Institute for Church Safety & Risk Management, he is a contributing author for the Episcopal Church’s Manual of Business Methods in Church Affairs and a frequent speaker on nonprofit risk management. Scott earned industry recognition when he was designated a power broker to the nonprofit sector by Risk & Insurance magazine in its February 2011 issue; he was a finalist in the category in 2010.
