NR271 Enterprising Alternatives for Funding Revitalization Operations
Finding unrestricted capital to carry out your revitalization strategy has never been easy, but it has become more challenging in the current economic climate. This course will review concepts of "hard" and "soft" funding and discuss ways to generate ongoing hard capital through the development of hybrid for-profit and nonprofit business collaborations, the operation of for-profit subsidiary businesses and creative ways that hard capital can help you stabilize your budget while helping stretch your organization's existing soft funds. This workshop is participatory and interactive, and will encourage information sharing. It is designed for staff members with at least 3 years' experience in managing neighborhood redevelopment activity.
