NR214 ROUNDTABLE: Neighborhood Revitalization for Organizational Leaders
This roundtable provides a forum to explore today's compelling revitalization policy questions: How can cities position their neighborhoods to compete effectively in a regional marketplace? How does the existing policy framework support or undermine neighborhood revitalization efforts? How can cities and their nonprofit partners intervene successfully in neighborhoods where the housing market is weak or strong? How are cities and other partners, such as foundations, beginning to think differently about how they intervene in neighborhoods? Join fellow professionals engaged in planning, policy-making, and program implementation for neighborhood revitalization to discuss these and other issues. Participants will learn from the experience of their peers and critically examine their own experiences and approaches to the issues. Each participant will prepare in advance a set of key questions for group discussion and problem-solving. The course will also cover the importance of defining policy outcomes and how strategies can be organized to achieve those outcomes.
