NA163 Designing and Implementing an Integrated Asset-Building Program
Creating assets in Native communities has become an essential part of building local economies. This 3-day training will look at different types of asset building- including basic financial education classes, credit building components and tools for clients, child savings programs, and a variety of items detailing asset building strategies and best practices. We will discuss ways to determine what programs would best suit your community and the most efficient way to begin the research, design, and implementation of final products and service delivery. This class will also discuss the ways in which programs have been successful and give you a guide to the steps needed to create an effective asset building program for Native communities. First Nations Oweesta Corporation will teach this course in partnership with First Nations Development Institute. Those who complete this entire workshop may be eligible for additional technical assistance following the training institute.
