NA131 Introduction to Planning in Native Communities
This two-day course is appropriate for managers, decision makers and other hands-on leaders of Native communities. It provides a framework for designing a planning process in Native communities. Learn about the benefits of planning and how the planning process works. Participants will become familiar with useful tools, methods and planning models. Land and cultural issues specific to Native Communities are addressed in this course. Also, different types of planning approaches — such as comprehensive, land-use, transportation, economic development and mixed-use — are examined.
