NA130 Leveraging Resources for Housing and Other Development Projects in Native Communities
This "how to" course is designed to assist community developers to understand and access financing for housing and other projects on tribal lands. Learn how to use existing resources to leverage new sources of financing, ensure projects are financially feasible, and navigate inconsistencies when blending public and private sources to fill financing gaps in development projects. Participants also explore how non-traditional resources, such as in-kind donations and pro bono services, can be used to increase community participation and help satisfy grant and/or lending requirements. This course is taught by practitioners with extensive experience in structuring community development deals in Native American communities.
