CP191 Intro to Healthy Homes
Healthy homes are more than lead-, asbestos- and radon-free. Today's healthy homes are also asthma-friendly, pest-free and built to prevent moisture problems, mold and unnecessary chemical exposures. Indoor Environmental Quality is an important feature of green building programs. Nonprofit organizations that learn to recognize and respond to environmental health hazards can develop safer, healthier affordable housing for their clients. Take this course to learn the latest in health and housing issues, and to develop techniques for both evaluating health hazards and preventing hazards in rehabilitation and new construction. This broad-based introductory course is suitable for board members, senior staff, housing developers and rehabilitation specialists - everyone who wants to make healthy homes a stronger component of their organization's housing programs.
