CO215 Youth OrganizingAre young people seen as a valued part of the leadership structure of your organization? Do they have a direct outlet to have their voices heard on issues that affect their community? Often we focus on youth activities intended to prevent crime and destructive behavior, instead of seeing teenagers and young adults as a positive, vital resource to our communities. In this class you will learn from youth that have developed their own organization, planned their own organizing campaigns and implemented their own projects completely from a youth-leadership perspective. You will discuss your views of youth organizing and leadership and address many of the assumptions adults hold relative to youth and those that young people hold towards older people.Course length: 1 Days Tuition: $ 0 Course counts toward a professional certificate: No |
