CB375 Organizing and Mobilizing to Combat Loan Modification ScamsAll sorts of financial predators are circling our communities offering phony counseling and foreclosure rescue scams, fake “government” loan modifications, baiting and switching desperate home-owners with false promises to save their home. This course will enhance your ability to develop an organized community response against loan rescue scams. In the class we will review homeownership financing practices to identify the latest predatory lending practices. We will use case studies to explore the impacts these scams can have on a community where predatory practices have occurred and will explore how to organize and mobilize a community’s response. Learn to conduct the necessary research to determine the extent to which scams are happening in your community, and to identify the scammers and their targeted victims.
