CB320 Community Organizing: Values and ConflictsThe work of community organizing is always driven by values, and having a full understanding of what this means is essential to be an effective organizer. The values of an organization reflect the values of the individuals that create and constitute the organization. To be effective, doing the work of the organization and working within the organization, we must have a clear understanding of our personal value system and how it fits in the organization’s work and culture. In this course we’ll explore how values are formed and transformed, what influence these processes, and how to deal with situations when our values may seem to be in conflict with our work.
