CB170 Resident Engagement and CDC Accountability for Healthy Communities
We believe that an effective community development organization must engage community members in its work and decision-making processes in meaningful ways. But we often struggle to figure out how to do it, in part because all too often we focus on a one-way question: “How to engage residents in our organization?” In this class we’ll explore this question but go one step further to ask: How to transform the organization to make it an integral part of the community? How to develop the transformational internal culture necessary so that the organization comes to see itself as accountable to the community? This class is for all community development professionals and volunteers committed to building organizations that are truly responsive and accountable to their communities.
