C0120 Effective Outreach TechniquesHow can you be more effective in getting the word out, and bringing more people into your organization and community work? Learning new outreach skills and practicing old ones can give you the tools you need to help build your organization and enable you to be more effective in your interactions with people in the community. In this course you will learn about basic outreach techniques such as where to find people, how to provide information about your organization and how to build trust with individuals in the community. On the second day you will spend part of the class in a local community practicing some of the methods you have talked about in class. These techniques will include, but are not limited to, door knocking, interviewing and community mapping. Class members will then process what they have learned when they return from the field, and discuss the lessons learned from their fieldwork experiences. Note: This class will include class time outside of the hotel doing off-site work in a Minneapolis neighborhood.Course length: 1 Days Tuition: $ 0 Course counts toward a professional certificate: No |
