Many organizations use the strategy of acquiring and rehabbing single family (foreclosed) properties to address the affordable housing and community revitalization needs of their community. Often these properties must be held for an extended period of time and/or used as rentals prior to sale. Owning, selling and managing this real estate is complex and risky. This course provide practical and proven methods in areas such as data collection, staffing needs, risk management, financial implications and organizational impact to ensure that organizational mission and sustainability are met. This course is for organization leaders with balance sheet responsibility such as executive directors, financial officers and directors of property management with a single family portfolio (or the intention of acquiring one).
