AH262 Resale Formulas and Financing for Community Land Trust Homes
Community land trusts (CLTs) have proven to be an effective tool to create and maintain permanently affordable homeownership housing across the country. In day one of this intermediate course, learn how to evaluate the various resale formulas and design one that meets your community's needs and priorities. Find out how decisions you make when developing your ground lease effect the long-term management of your CLT program and learn how to manage your resale process over time. In day two, participants will explore the various subsidies available to develop CLT homes and explore the long term implications of funding choices and combinations. Next, participants will explore mortgage financing options for CLT homebuyers, and learn how to negotiate with banks to secure mortgage financing for your CLT homebuyers. Participants in this course should have a basic understanding of housing financing, community land trusts and/or have completed an introductory level community land trust course. This course is offered through the Community Land Trust Academy.
