Affordable Housing Professional Certificate Program
Job Specific Certificate Opportunities The Affordable Housing Professional Certificate Program consists of five series of courses that provide quality education in areas fundamentally associated with the affordable housing industry: Funding and Finance; Project Management; Community Stabilization; Supportive Housing and Community Land Trusts. When participants complete their program, they will have a comprehensive understanding of the importance of affordable housing, and be capable of applying current theory and best practices. As with all Professional Certificate Programs, this revised program has been developed in conjunction with the faculty of the Neighborworks Training Institutes — instructors with significant expertise in the fields of housing financing, design and development and project management. Earning a Professional CertificateA professional certificate is awarded to individuals who successfully complete a required series of courses and a final applied assignment. Each candidate must take a total of nine courses to receive a certificate, and pass the appropriate tests.
Program courses are open to all training institute participants, but in order to be eligible for the professional certificate, candidates must formally enroll in the Professional Certificate Program by submitting an enrollment form. With prior approval by training division staff, candidates may receive credit for relevant courses taken no more than two years prior to enrollment in the Professional Certificate Program. Candidates must take the online tests for the applicable required courses. Learn more about online testing for Professional Certificate Program courses.
