Remarks by John C. Dugan, Comptroller of the Currency (a NeighborWorks board agency), before the Anacostia Economic Summit, May 3, Washington, D.C.

John Dugan, Comptroller of the Currency, spoke of the important role played by banks and the Community Reinvestment Act in neighborhood revitalization. [View speech (PDF)]. He also acknowledged the vital role of community development organizations, including two NeighborWorks affiliates, the Marshall Heights Community Development Organization, and Manna, Inc. "Organizations like these have helped facilitate a growing investment of capital into your neighborhoods, which I hope and believe is the broadly participatory neighborhood renewal of the future," said Dugan.
