John Wiltse Named Co-Chair
of NeighborWorks® Rural Initiative

20, 2003 -- At a recent meeting of the NeighborWorks Rural
Initiative, John Wiltse was elected co-chair of the national steering
committee. A founding member since its formation in 2001, Wiltse
has represented rural NeighborWorks organizations from the New
York district. He joins Josie Cuda, board chair of the HomeOwnership
Center of Randolph County, West Virginia, in sharing leadership
responsibilities for the Rural Initiative which now includes more
than 70 NeighborWorks organizations across the United States.
John currently serves as the director of management operations
at Rural Opportunities, Inc., in Rochester, New York. In this
capacity, John coordinates a team that provides homeownership
and housing development programs across several states. John is
also responsible for overall budget management, grantwriting,
public relations, computer support and other odd jobs for ROI's
Housing & Economic Development Division. A 12-year veteran
of ROI, John cut his teeth on rural development as a college intern
working at the Cranks Creek Survival Center in Harlan County,
Kentucky. John graduated from Kalamazoo College in Michigan with
a bachelor of arts in English and currently resides in Rochester,
New York.
