NeighborWorks Organizations Implement Innovative
Community Development Strategies in Houston
May
10, 2004-- Three NeighborWorks organizations in Houston are
taking innovative approaches to community development, including
sustainable redevelopment of environmentally-blighted neighborhoods
and the creation of the nation's first "i-community"
that uses technology to promote economic and social development.
In the city's east end, the Tejano Center for Community
Concerns is seeking to empower residents to fight the poverty
in their community.
The Spring 2004 issue of NeighborWorks bright ideas explores
these and other initiatives in Houston.
