The Land of Lakes, Loans, Community Lenders…
and Community Development Training!

April 30, 2004-- The NeighborWorks Institute being held in Minneapolis, May 3-7, 2004 will break all attendance records with more than 1,500 registrants -- including 180-plus participating in a community organizer symposium. In addition to unparalleled educational opportunities in community development, the weeks activities will include a NeighborWorks Symposium on Multifamily Excellence: Changing Minds, Building Communities: Advancing Affordable Housing Through Communications Campaigns.

The Institute will also offer for the second time a Native American Community Development Training Program. The development of this cutting-edge program, made possible by a generous grant from Wells Fargo Home Mortgage through its Wells Fargo Housing Foundation, as well as contributions from our other distinguished partners, is specifically designed to serve the community development needs of Native communities. The grant from Wells Fargo Housing Foundation allows Neighborhood Reinvestment to provide full scholarships to participants. More.

Year-round, the Minneapolis-St. Paul area is home to a remarkable amount of community development and affordable housing work in low- to moderate-income communities. Five NeighborWorks organizations are located in the area, and together, they are impacting their communities in a big way. The services they offer range from first-time homebuyer assistance to postpurchase counseling and financial-literacy training. Each organization tailors its services to the needs of its specific community. View articles [PDF, 574KB]
