Paul Kealey
Director of Training
Paul Kealey has served as director of the NeighborWorks® America Training Division since 2002. In this role, he manages the NeighborWorks Training Institute, which offers more than 200 courses in community development, homeownership and lending, community economic development, housing construction and production, and nonprofit management and leadership to more than 10,000 community development professionals annually.
In 2004, he launched the NeighborWorks Center for Homeownership and Counseling, which provides training, certification and tools to thousands of homeownership counselors and educators. Kealey also directs other marquee training programs, including the NeighborWorks Community Leadership Institute, Executive Director Symposia and Achieving Excellence with Harvard University.
Kealey has more than 20 years of experience in management and leadership, adult education, and community development. Prior to joining NeighborWorks America, Kealey directed AmeriCorps VISTA training programs at the Corporation for National and Community Service. Before that he was director of operations for the Latin and Caribbean region at World Wildlife Fund and oversaw international community development and training programs with the Peace Corps in Paraguay, Costa Rica and Washington, DC. He served as a Peace Corps volunteer from 1986 to 1988 in the highlands of Guatemala.
Kealey has an undergraduate degree from San Francisco State University and a master’s degree and education credential from the University of California at Davis. He is fluent in Spanish.
