NeighborWorks America Homeownership Symposium Charts
Course Toward The Next Generation of Housing Partnerships
Insurers, Bankers, Developers, Lenders, Realtors®, Community Organizers Convene
Washington, D.C. – NeighborWorks America has called together housing leadership from across the country and various sectors of housing finance to an August 24, 2005 symposium to chart a course for the next generation of affordable housing partnerships. Sponsoring the symposium are: The NeighborWorks Center for Homeownership Education and Counseling (NCHEC), the NeighborWorks Campaign for Home Ownership and the NeighborWorks Insurance Alliance with support from New Century Financial Corporation, E*Trade Financial and Freddie Mac
“This Symposium extends the horizon for leaders in affordable housing to renew existing and develop new partnerships,” says NeighborWorks America CEO Ken Wade. “We are here to focus on partnering across industries – banking, insurance, real estate and others – and with community organizers to expand the supply of affordable housing. Working together, we are making a difference in the lives of people of modest means who want to own a home,” says Wade.
Through its partnerships with business and industry and with community organizers throughout the country, NeighborWorks has successfully put more than 80,000 families of modest means in homes they can afford.
