WASHINGTON, D.C. – Volunteers from four of NeighborWorks America Board agencies — the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, the National Credit Union Administration and the Federal Reserve — joined NeighborWorks America staff on June 7 to help clean up and beautify communities in Northeast and Southeast D.C. This effort was part of the 25th annual National NeighborWorks Week, which was held June 7-14, 2008. More than 80 volunteers worked under the hot sun at a local single resident occupancy building, a low-income apartment building and a youth and adult education center. They also painted hallways, planted flowers and pulled weeds at locations managed by NeighborWorks network member Marshall Heights Community Development Organization (MHCDO). This is the first time that four of the top financial regulatory agencies have volunteered simultaneously in one location. Below are pictures of the volunteers.
