National NeighborWorks Week 2010: Washington, DC
NeighborWorks Board Agencies Lend a Hand During National NeighborWorks Week
On June 5, 2010, more than 50 volunteers from four of NeighborWorks America’s board agencies — the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, the National Credit Union Administration and the Office of Thrift Supervision — as well as NeighborWorks staff and other volunteers rejuvenated a Washington, DC community to kickoff National NeighborWorks Week. The volunteers joined forces to landscape and beautify the Willowbrook Condominium, a tenant purchase project developed by NeighborWorks member Manna, Inc in DC. Some of the volunteers also canvassed the project’s Brookland neighborhood to inform residents about loan modification scams and to invite them to a workshop on the subject later in the day.
