NeighborWorks America Report Shows African Americans and Hispanics Hard-Hit by the Foreclosure Crisis
NeighborWorks America recently announced that
of the more than 870,000 homeowners who received foreclosure prevention counseling as a result of NFMC funding through January 31, 2010,
26 percent were African American homeowners, nearly three times their representation of total homeowners.
Twenty-one percent were Hispanic homeowners, more than twice their representation of total homeowners.
The Advertising Council and NeighborWorks America Launch New PSAs to Help Homeowners in Foreclosure Crisis
The Advertising Council, in partnership with NeighborWorks America have launched new national public service advertisements designed to educate homeowners about where they can turn for help if they are at risk of foreclosure. National Loan Modification Scam Alert Campaign Launches in New York and Maryland
New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and other local officials joined NeighborWorks COO Eileen Fitzgerald in New York City on February 18 to raise awareness about loan modification scams.
In Maryland, on January 17, U.S. Senator Barbara Mikulski joined NeighborWorks America to announce the campaign.
