NeighborWorks Financial Capability Program
Webinar Series with CFED
Opening Doors to New Funding Streams
Tuesday, May 23, 2012, 1:00 – 2:00 PM EST
Presented by CFED and NeighborWorks America
Over 130 attendees joined us for a discussion of how two housing organizations, CASA of Oregon and Beyond Housing, have cultivated new funding streams for programs to expand their work into other areas of asset building such as financial education and college savings. Maggie Reilly of CASA of Oregon and a CFED 2010 Innovative Idea Champion, discussed CASA’s partnership with the Oregon Independent College Foundation, specifically how the partnership supports CASA’s Matched Education Savings Account College Initiative. Chris Krehmeyer of Beyond Housing, a NeighborWorks affiliate, discussed funding streams they have tapped into to support their asset building programs and the 24:1 Initiative, a comprehensive community development initiative led by Beyond Housing. Presentations were followed by a Q&A session.
Presenters included:
Maggie Reilly, Program Director, CASA of Oregon
Chris Krehmeyer, President and CEO, Beyond Housing
Rick Haughey, Director of Affordable Housing Initiatives, CFED (moderator)

About CFED
CFED expands economic opportunity by helping Americans start and grow businesses, go to college, own a home and save for their children’s and own economic futures. We identify promising ideas, test and refine them in communities to find out what works, craft policies and products to help good ideas reach scale, and develop partnerships to promote lasting change. We bring together community practice, public policy and private markets in new and effective ways to achieve greater economic impact.
Established in 1979 as the Corporation for Enterprise Development, CFED works nationally and internationally through its offices in Washington, DC; Durham, North Carolina; and San Francisco, California.
